Configuring IPv6
Dynamic Defense allows for IPv6 traffic but depending on your type of connection and equipment, you should confirm you are capable of using IPv6.
Dynamic Defense on Business Fiber (ABF):
The BGW320 modem defaults to IPv4. To switch from IPv4 to IPv6 on your BGW320, follow these steps:
- Access DD portal: Navigate to your Dynamic Defense portal.
- Check Security Policy: Look through your security policy on Dynamic Defense to make sure that nothing specifically needs to be updated for IPv6, especially under the IP Control tab.
- Access the Modem Interface: Open a web browser and enter http://192.168.1.254 to access the modem's settings.
- Enable IPv6: Navigate to the Home Network tab. Look for the IPv6 settings and ensure that options like DHCPv6 and Prefix Delegation are enabled.
- Firewall Settings: Go to the Firewall tab and disable advanced packet filtering if necessary. This can help ensure smooth IPv6 traffic flow.
- Reboot the Modem: After making changes, reboot the modem to apply the settings.
- Verify IPv6 Connectivity: Check the Status section under the Home Network tab to confirm that IPv6 is active. You should see an IPv6 Delegated Prefix Subnet listed.
