How to Use Policy Manager

Policy manager is a one stop feature for policy summary views for your circuits, version history and copying a policy across different circuits.

Accessing policy manager

The policy manager can be accessed by navigating to the policy module at the top center, then clicking on the policy manager icon located at the top right-side of the portal.

View Circuit(s)

When policy manager is open, you will see your current circuit and version that you are viewing in the portal. If you have multiple circuits and would like to change circuits, click the first drop down and select from the provided list.

Once the circuit is selected, policy manager will show the active policy version and a summary for the selected circuit. You can click each category under policy summary to expand and show more details.

Version History

Previous versions of a policy can only be viewed in policy manager for the current circuit you are viewing in the portal. To revisit a previous version, select the second drop down and then choose which version you would like to see.

The policy summary below will give a quick view of what was selected for that version. If you would like more information for each category, click the drop down to see more details.

If you would like to restore this previous version to active, you can click "Restore Policy" within the policy manger tab to return the version to active state.

If you change the circuit in policy manger, the version history drop down will be shaded grey and only show the active policy.

Policy manager will show a policy summary for which ever circuit and version is selected in the drop down. Each section for policy summary expands to show more details related to the policy.

Pull Policy

If you have multiple circuits with Dynamic Defense, pull policy can be used to copy and paste an existing policy to any other circuit in your portal. To use pull policy, first make sure you are on the circuit that need an updated policy. Confirm by looking at the circuit or name at the top right of the portal by the bell icon.

Open policy manager and select the circuit which has the policy you would like to pull. Once you have selected the circuit, the "pull policy" icon will appear.

When you click "pull policy" a pop up will appear confirming which circuit the policy will be pulled from and copied to.

You will have the options to "pull as draft" or "pull and apply". "Pull as draft" will copy the policy and let you review the draft before applying. "Pull and apply" will copy the policy and immediately apply it as active policy.

View Policy

View policy will exit policy manager and take you to the policy configuration module within the portal itself. This function allows you to switch circuits or view a previous version of the current circuit.

To switch circuits, select a different circuit in the first drop down in policy manager, then click "view policy". Policy manager will close, and you will be taken to the new circuit's policy module where you can make edits or view insights.

To view a previous version, select the version you wish to see in the second drop down in policy manager, then click "view policy". Policy manager will close, and you will be taken to the previous version within the policy module of the portal itself. If you would like to restore the previous policy, click the "Inactive" button on the right-hand side.

Update info

You can update the policy name or comments after you have created a policy by clicking "update info" within policy manager. A pop up will appear where you can make the necessary updates for the selected circuit.

Delete Draft

You can delete drafts from the policy manager when you see the trashcan icon below the second drop down. Simply click the trashcan icon and confirm you wish to delete the draft.
