How to Use Policy Version Control
Policy version control refers to the systematic management of updates and revisions to an organization's cybersecurity policies. This practice helps maintain the integrity and effectiveness of cybersecurity measures, ensuring that they align with evolving threats and regulatory requirements while providing a clear history of policy changes for accountability and compliance purposes.
Open Policy Manager
Within the AT&T Dynamic Defense portal, policy version control can be accessed with in the "Policy" tab and clicking on "Policy Manger" on the right-hand side of the user interface
Select Version to Restore
Select the second drop down and then choose which version you would like to see.

For each policy version, there will be a date and time for when that policy was applied. When a previous version is selected, the policy summary below will give a quick view of what was selected for that version. If you would like more information for each category, click the drop down to see more details. If you would like to view or edit comments about the previous version, you can select "update info".
Restore Policy
If you would like to restore the previous version to active, you can click "Restore Policy" within the policy manger tab to return the version to active state.

Please Note: If you select a different circuit within policy manger, the version history drop down will be shaded grey and only show the active policy. This is because policy manager can only show version history for the circuit that is selected at the portal level, not the policy manager level. To change circuits at the portal level, navigate to the portal circuit drop down in the top right-hand side of the page next to the bell icon and click on the circuit ID or name. Then, switch to the circuit you would like to view.
Reset or clear all policy rules from a connection
If you would like to clear all rules or policy changes for your connection and start new with a wide open policy, use the policy version control feature. Go through the steps listed above, but when selecting a previous version, scroll down the list to find V1 and then apply to your connection. This will ultimately bring you back to a wide open policy.
Please note: Certain default firewall rules will still exist to make sure Dynamic Defense shield and other features can operate correctly. All other custom rules or policies that a user has implemented will be removed.
