How to Push a Policy

Push policy was created to help users duplicate a policy across multiple circuits faster and more efficient. Please note: you can only push an active policy and if you push a policy to a circuit with a draft, the draft will be overridden in favor of the new policy.

There are 2 ways to push a policy with Dynamic Defense depending on what you are trying to accomplish.

  1. Apply Policy button - If you have created a draft policy on a circuit and would like to apply it to multiple cicuits at once.
  2. Policy Manager - If you have an existing policy on a circuit and would like to duplicate it on one or more circuits.

Apply Policy Button

Click the draft button

Once you are ready to apply your draft policy, click on the blue "Draft" button. It will change to "Apply Policy" once you hover over the button.

Push Policy

Next, decide to push your existing policy to the selected circuits as a draft or as an active policy.

Push policy module

"Push as Draft" will push your existing policy to all the selected circuits as a draft and will require you to open each circuit and apply the new draft. Users may choose this method if they need to further customize a policy for each circuit.

"Push and Apply" will push your existing policy to all the selected circuits as an active policy. Users may choose this method if the policy is applicable to multiple circuits and is ready to be applied.
